Four hours cruise from Piraeus port lies an authentic Greek destination: Spetses. Free from cars and massive tourism, this island is probably one of the most charming I have ever visited. Thanks to my friend Pauline who has been an incredible host, my friends and I have learned how to discover Spetses the right way.

First of all, we had to rent motorcycles since cars are not allowed and, although it’s lovely, we didn't want to travel by horse-drawn carriages the whole stay. The island tour was definitely one of the most magical moments. This is a must if you want to admire the marvelous landscapes that Spetses has to offer (especially during the sunset). Even though the destination is popular with high-society Athenians, its ancient white houses, secluded beaches and pine-clad hills make it a non-ostentatious and wild place.

The days there are slow and carefree. Most of the afternoons, we spent our time sunbathing on dazzling beaches. A recommendation? Kaiki beach (see above). Once we were done with the salt and the sun, we used to have a drink and walk around the old port. Finally, our nights in Spetses were very lively. Unlike our trip to Mykonos or other party destinations, we found no big nightclubs. Nevertheless, the bars and streets got packed at around two or three in the morning. My favorite spot was the "Bikini", a bar by the sea with great atmosphere, catchy playlists and the most delicious cocktails. On our last night, the lighthouse revealed to us all the secrets of the island through a breathtaking seascape sunrise view.

There’s something special about this place...

For a relaxing getaway, the Costa Brava is clearly one of my favorite destinations. Outside of the stressful city life, 3 days in this perfect mix of beach and countryside helped me recharge batteries before taking on a new week of work in Paris.

After two of the most amazing years studying at the University of Warwick (UK), the time has come to say goodbye and leave for a year abroad . This is quite a melancholic moment since most of my friends are going to be scattered around the world and we won't have the opportunity to see each other much. Nevertheless, I am extremely excited for the year that is coming.

It's a great time for great new beginnings.
